50 Cents and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are no longer a team ? Boxing News

Sadly, TMT Promotions (The Money Team) no longer exists. Rumours of the split were around for quite some time but now it has been finally confirmed by 50 Cents, Curtis Jackson, via Twitter. Jackson formed the promotion while Mayweather was serving his three month jail sentence. As both of them are great friends, everyone was expecting TMT Promotions to be the best one around. Sadly, it did not work well for both of them, and according to Jackson, it was Mayweather who violated the deal.

?I'm no longer a part or down with TMT Promotions. If anyone wants a Money Team jacket I'm selling mine for a dollar. The (snap) back hat comes with it. That's a (fair) price,? said Jackson through his Twitter account.

?Get your TMT sweat suit NOW!! For just $7.99 online No shipping and handling. I move the fighters to SMS Promotions 'cause the other half of the money team didn't put up (their) MONEY$.?

A split between Jackson and Mayweather could also mean the end of negotiations between Filipino fight sensation Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather. It should be noted here that Jackson made the efforts of bringing both the parties close enough for the super-fight. Since Mayweather has always held grudges for Pacquiao, it was Jackson who went the extra mile to make things work out.

Now, since the TMT Promotions is no longer active or Jackson is not a part of it, chances of the super-fight have faded too. Fans were counting on Jackson to make the showdown happen but no longer is that possible.

According to Jackson, Mayweather did not fulfil his responsibility, which is the main reason as to why the partnership ended. There have been no comments from Mayweather?s side on the issue, which is quite strange as the WBC welterweight titlist is always at the forefront of trash-talking.

For now, fans might mourn over the fact that the two celebrities are no longer together, and what could have been the biggest boxing promotional agency of all time simply does not exist anymore. Now, it is Jackson?s SMS Promotion that will be making the difference, hopefully.
