The Privilege of Performing: Burlesque Behavior Lecture Class Series
2/13, 7-8pm (Studio 111)
$10 pre-reg/ $15 late-reg, Class Cards NOT valid for this course

?The Art of the Tease? is just that, an art. A craft. But it is also entertainment. It is titillation. It has history, dos and don?ts, and a spectrum of possibilities that could make it difficult to know how and where to fit into it all. As any art form, burlesque should also be studied, learned, refined. It requires discipline, attention to detail, self critique and humility. Credibility and experience need to be sought after and attained through good ol? fashioned hard work! A performers first and foremost duty, is to entertain the audience.

This 1-hour lecture class series will explore all of these facets of ?the privilege of performing?? for performing burlesque (or any form of art and entertainment) is NOT a right. Headmistress Deanna Danger has studied from top performers in the field, attended many national and regional festivals, gained invaluable experience performing full-time and professionally up and down the east coast for nearly 4 years, has a Bachelors degree in ?producing,? and even has a 1st Place title under her belt. Perspective, timing and honor is everything when it comes to professionalism of the burlesque craft. Whether you wish to perform in the grander burlesque community, or for fun and self empowerment locally, miss Danger is here to help Richmond area students figure out how to make THE BEST of it they can! If you feel like you have been spinning your wheels, not understanding why you are here and not there, this class will help. Bring a pen, plenty of paper for notes, and all the questions you can muster! Now is your chance to get down to the nitty gritty in a safe, nurturing classroom environment.

*Recommended to ALL students and local performers alike.
