Yoshihiro Yamanishi and colleagues explain that drug side effects are a major health problem the fourth-leading cause of death in the U.S. which by some estimates claim 100,000 lives every year. Serious side effects are the main reason why existing drugs must be removed from the market and why pharmaceutical companies halt development of new drugs after investing millions of dollars. Current methods of testing for side effects are costly and inaccurate. That's why the scientists sought to develop a new computer-based approach to predicting possible side effects.

They show the usefulness of their proposed method on simultaneous prediction of 969 side effects of 658 drugs that already are in wide medical use. The method is based on knowledge about chemical and biological information about ingredients in these medications. They also used the approach to identify possible side effects for many uncharacterized molecules. Based on that work, the scientists conclude that the new method could be helpful in uncovering serious side effects early in the development and testing of new drugs, avoiding costly investment in medications unsuitable for marketing.

My husband and I currently own a condo close to downtown Denver. We are considering purchasing a house in the southern suburbs, which would be closer to my work and give us more room to start a family. However, I would prefer to not sell the condo and to rent it out instead.?The market is on?the upswing and prices in the building have been climbing steadily. I would like to keep the property?until it settles. I know we could rent it for enough to cover the mortgage+HOA.

Unfortunately, we only have enough cash to put about 5% down on a new home if we keep the condo. If we sold the condo, we would likely generate enough cash from the sale to put down 20%.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get approved for a mortgage on a second home (which would be our primary residence)?with only 5% down? Would it drastically affect our interest rate? Is taking out a home equity loan on the condo to cover the down payment on the new home?an option? I know we need to talk to a mortgage broker, but we're still in the early phases and I would like to know if we need to be preparing to sell the condo if we hope to move.

Malaysiapropertynews.net reports that property developer Tambun Indah Land Bhd plans to launch at least five new projects in the first half of 2013, with a total gross development value (GDV)of RM252.9 million (US$83.2 million). All of the proposed projects will be in Penang, where Tambun Indah has been busy in recent years, and will continue to be so as it responds to the growing demand for property in Penang.

The property developer is also seeking new land banks in the Klang Valley, in addition to other areas, where it can develop future projects either on its own or as part of joint venture collaborations.

Teh Kiak Seng, managing director of Tambun Indah Land, said, ?This will complement our existing undeveloped land bank of 300 hectares across Penang, which translates into a potential GDV of more than RM3.4 billion (US$1.11 billion) that is expected to last until 2020?.

Seng added that the five new projects to be launched in 2013 would allow his company to meet the growing demand for mid to high-end property developments in mainland Penang.

Seng also commented that Tambun Indah has a positive outlook regarding property in Penang, chiefly due to the return of high profile foreign investments to the area.

Such investments include Robert Bosch Solar?s plans to channel RM2.2 billion (US$724 million) into its solar manufacturing plant in Batu Kawan and Aviatron?s RM500 million (US$164 million) investment in a new plant in Penang Science Park on mainland Penang.

Seng stated that according to the Real Estate and Housing Developers? Association in Malaysia, the property market in Penang is likely to see steadfast growth of between five percent and ten percent in 2013.

In addition, Seng said that the increased spending by the government on Malaysia?s infrastructure will contribute to the growing success of Penang?s property market.

The anticipated completion of the second Penang bridge in September 2013, as well as ongoing work to the double-tracking rail project, will improve accessibility to the mainland, adding further fuel to Penang?s property market, according to Seng.

My husband would bring out the monster in me. No, I would never throw things or hurt anyone in the process, but I'd drop a few F-bombs here and there and I'd certainly get LOUD. Thing is, I generally don't have a temper. Most of my friends, even childhood friends, would be surprised if they were told that I have a temper. But I do. People who know me too well and know how to push my buttons unleash that ugly side of me. My dad, my mom sometimes, and now my husband. I thought my temper problems were done with. That I was just an angry teen. That I'd overcome it. Apparently not. Thing is, I'd been to individual counseling for an extended period of time before I got married. So I'm not sure that that's the route to go. Does anyone recommend any self-help books or techniques to calm me down when I sense getting frustrated to the point of losing my cool? I think it's just a facade, but there's nothing more any of us can do other than hope there's an epiphany or crisis (nothing too serious) that will snap them out of it. The other thing you could do, if willing, is to draw a hard boundary. "I love you but your weight is making me lose attraction for you. If this continues..I will (insert consequence that you intend to follow through on, not just threaten)."
